A quiet legacy of warmth, carried forward one beanie at a time.
Shirley and Mara are women who love in small, faithful ways — through a hot meal, groceries, a phone call at just the right time, a coat pressed into someone's hands when winter came early.
When Shirley passed, I had a longing to honour these two ladies in a way that felt like them: personal, intentional, and quietly generous. Not a campaign. Not a brand. Just one small, human act repeated again and again. Mara is still a driving force, helping always when she can.
Warm Hands, Warm Hearts began as a handful of beanies crocheted mostly in the evenings and dropped off quietly at local shelters, schools and individuals when there was a need. Today, with your help, we will be able to place more of these handmade reminders of care into the hands of women and children who need them most.
🧶 What makes a Warm Hands beanie different?
- Each beanie is crocheted or hand-knit - never mass-produced.
- Styles and colours are chosen with dignity and love in mind.
- Every beanie is attached to a small note that reads like a blessing, not a label.
- Deliveries are coordinated through shelters, safe houses, schools, and community partners who know the women and children by name.
